Judson University (9-11, 5-1) faces visiting opponent Purdue-North Central (6-15, 1-4) on a 5-game winning streak with wins over conference rivals like Trinity International, Trinity Christian, and Purdue-Calumet. Purdue-North Central is coming in losing 4-of-5 games while the one win was their last game over Calumet College of St. Joseph.
Judson’s most explosive player over the last five games is sophomore Josh Edwards (Mapleton, IL) who is averaging 17.4 points per game while posting three 20-point games. Another player for the Eagles that has really stepped us as of late is sophomore Landon Skinner (Plano, TX) who is averaging 17.6 points per game over his last 5. The Eagles are going to look to shoot the three well and convert on the other teams turnovers and making free throws.
Leading the charge for the Panthers is junior Ryan Sisson who nearly leads them in every statistical category. Sisson leads the Panthers in scoring (20.4), rebounds (6.4), and steals (1.3). He ranks third in the CCAC in scoring and ranks sixth in the conference in rebounding. The Panthers will look to him for majority of what they will do in the game but also with junior Derrick Hazelwood. He is fifth on the team in scoring with 8.2 points per game and leads the team in assists with 4.4 per game.
The game between the Eagles and Panthers should be a close one with both teams averaging about the same as their opponents. I see the Eagles of Judson University coming out on top with sophomore Josh Edwards (Mapleton, IL) having another big game from beyond the three-point line.
