The game between Judson University (7-11, 4-1) and Silver Lake College (0-14) is a rematch of a game these two teams played earlier this season on December 19th, where the Eagles beat the Lakers by a score of 88-71. The Eagles nearly lead in every statistical category that game even though the score was somewhat close.
Sophomore Landon Skinner (Plano, TX) lead the way for the Eagles offensively scoring 19 points and 8-of-11 from the floor, which was a game high. Skinner had some help off the bench from sophomore Brian Sherwood (Oak Forest, IL) who went 6-of-7 from the floor for 14 points and a team high 6 rebounds. The Eagles had 21 assists on the night while holding the Lakers to 2 assists and out rebounded them by 29. The Eagles shot 68% from the floor, 42.9% from three-point territory, and 56.7% from the line.
The Lakers were lead by Dwight Weathers with 13 points and a game high 4 four steals, which tied Judson University sophomore Josh Edwards (Mapleton, IL). Maurice Patton added 11 points, 6 rebounds, and finished 5-of-8 from the line. The first half was where the Lakers really shined from the charity stripe shooting an astounding 90.9% on 10-of-11 free throws. The Lakers hope to win for the first time this season on the road at Judson University but that may be a slim chance.
The Eagles are coming into the game with last weeks CCAC player of the week sophomore Landon Skinner (Plano, TX). Skinner showed in his last game that his explosiveness is back from last season before his shoulder injury during the summer. I expect this game to be dominated by the Eagles and their high-powered offense.
