Judson University (10-11, 6-1) goes on the road to take on #13 Cardinal Stritch (19-4, 7-0) for the right of first place in the CCAC on the line. Judson University enters Wednesday night’s game on a 6-game winning streak while Cardinal Stritch is on an 11-game winning streak. Cardinal Stritch defeated Judson University the last time these two teams faced each other back on January 9th with a score of 78-62.
The Eagles in their last game received a career night from senior Josh Weber (Sterling, IL) who scored 24 points on a perfect 12-of-12 from the floor. Weber also grabbed six rebounds and three blocks in only 15 minutes of play. Judson hopes to have a similar effort out of Weber as well as sophomores Josh Edwards (Mapleton, IL) and Landon Skinner (Plano, TX) who have been on a tear as of late. In their last six games they have combined to average 33.7 points per game between them both. The Eagles in their 6-game winning streak are averaging just less than 93 points per game.
Cardinal Stritch is lead by senior Trey Triplett who is averaging 18 points per game along with 6.5 rebounds per game. The Wolves have a pretty potent offense averaging 83.7 points per game. Cardinal Stritch has two players other than Triplett averaging 17 points per game. Junior Brandon D’Amico averages 17.5 points per game while senior Kody Braddix averages 17.3. In their 11-game winning streak the Wolves are averaging 83.4 points per game while holding their opponents to 67.6 points per game.
If the Eagles hope to extend their winning streak and take on sole first place in the CCAC they have to play defense from the tip. Judson University has a habit of letting their opponent go point for point with them early but not against an experienced team like Cardinal Stritch. The Wolves will have to slow down the Eagles offense early and often for them to come out on top.
