WBB Preview: Judson vs. Purdue Calumet

By: Ryan Plinske | Judson University Student Sports Information Assistant

Judson University (8-13, 2-4) goes on the road to face Purdue Calumet (11-12, 4-3) hoping to split the season series.  The Peregrines beat the Eagles earlier this year by a score of 94-88.  Both teams are coming off conference losses their last game.

The Eagles are lead by their big three of senior Aubrey Parsons (Sterling, IL), senior Alicia Rovertoni (Columbia, IL), and senior Kirstin Johns (Belvidere, IL).  Parsons is the teams leading scorer, with 12.3 points per game and averaging 3.3 assists per game.  The Eagles best player overall in Alicia Rovertoni who averages 10.7 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game, which leads the conference.  Johns is almost automatic from the free throw line this year converting 37-of-49 for 76%.

The Peregrines, much like the Eagles have three main players game in and game out.  They are lead by sophomore Stephanie Beck, junior MeMe Harris, and senior Sara Keilman.  The three of them combine to score half of the Peregrines offense.  Along with scoring the basketball senior Keilman also leads the team in rebounds with 7.4 per game.  At the point MeMe Harris has stepped up nicely with 4.3 assists per game but committing 3.7 turnovers per game as well.

This game should be exciting if both teams come out to play their best basketball and almost duplicate their first matchup earlier this year.  I believe that the Peregrines may be just too much for the Eagles to handle on the road and suffers another conference loss.
